I can now seat 14! A dining room table project I’ve been working on. All recycled scaff boards and legs from an old table that was going in a skip.

How and where do you manage to find all of these old instruments? I can't seem to find much at all

I find mine at boot sales and flea markets etc. sometimes you’re lucky, sometimes not! It’s been a while since I found something but my tip is to get to boot sales as early as possible. If it says it opens at 9am get there for 7. They normally let you in early (in the uk anyway).

Hello! Just wondering what happened with the Elvis Costello cutout you were going to be selling.

Hi sorry I haven’t been on here, I’ve been working like mad!! I still have it, it will probably go into my shop when I get time off in the winter.
I will let you know when it does.
Jez

So I finished my bike… It was lovely. Just how I wanted it. I spent days spiking the wheels. At least I learned a skill although the formula for working out the length still baffles me. I went for trial and error in the end.
Anywho, two weeks later we took a delivery of 35 trees from Italy for a film we are working on. I rested my bike against the rootball of the largest one, a 4 tonne beech. A freak gust of wind blew ONLY that one over in the direction of the bike.
When you watch Kenneth Brannagh’s Cinderella in 2015 know that the biggest tree to the left of the palace gates killed my dream bike :(

Wheels built (mission) new crank and axle fitted (will fit a nicer vintage one when I find a good one) brakes and cables done (Jagwire Switch Bronze, look awesome!) straight handlebars….where’s my chain!!! I want to test it!!

Frame and forks stripped and lacquered, headstock veneered with Walnut Burl, brakes cleaned up.
Struggling to find a new cottered axle and bearings. Must be an unusual size.

So I haven’t been around for a while, hope you are all well. My real job has gone mad busy all of a sudden and hobbies and projects have taken a back seat. Bit I have bought myself a bike! I had to have it because its a bit weird. No idea who made it, but I think it needs some Gadzukes treatment. More to follow…
